I got a Leupold 1-4x. I wanted a very wide field of view and the 1x gives me that. Rifle will bbe kept on 1x mostly.

I always keep my variables on the lowest power. A snap shot and high power do not play well.
I was raised in the 50\'s on jackrabbits and gunpowder.salt and pepper wooda made\'em taste better

Really it is a regional thing with me. In the northeast shots will always be close, so scope is initially set at 3-4x. in the west ranges will be longer and I keep it set around 6x.

My problem is too much power and when I bring the rifle up, I can't find the critter. For the last 40 years I ALWAYS hunt with my B&L 8x binoculars hanging on my neck. Changing from binocs to scope views is also difficult. both ways, I find.
