    was reloading some 45acp this afternoon and ran into the small primers. forgot what i knew about. can you fill me in?

    I've heard they are "supposed" to be green.

      Original intent was a "green" lead free primer. The composition of the green primer dictated the use of small primers. I did my own comparison with about 200 rounds, 1/2 small, 1/2 large primed 45 ACP. Identical loads gave nearly identical results, not enough difference to work up loads specifically for small primed 45 ACP... https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C...w=1094&bih=472

        The only advantage I can see is like me , everything you load for uses small primers except the 45.
        Never drink down stream from the herd.

          I like having the option.
          I have a handful of large primer 357 mag cases here, been looking for more ever since I found them.
